The Digital Linnaeus Correspondence migrated to the Alvin System

It was celebrated on May 14th at Carolina Rediviva in Uppsala that the extensive research and infrastructure project of the digital Linnaeus correspondence migrated from being a project to being a natural part of Uppsala University Library’s Alvin system.

Celebration

That the proverbial baton this way was handed over was celebrated with lectures and a buffet at Uppsala University Library. There project manager Karl Grandin, project editor Eva Nyström, Riksbankens Jubileumsfond CEO Marika Hedin, and Uppsala University Library’s Chief Librarian Lars Burman all gave presentations. The project that started in 1995 had in the final phase (2013–2018) the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences and the Center for History of Science as a base. Eva Nyström, Ann-Mari Jönsson and other former employees were all thanked for their work and commitment within the project. The Riksbankens Jubileumsfond has financed the long project, which is now being taken over by Uppsala University Library.
